I met Susan through the NBMBAA Scale Up Pitch Competition, and oh am I grateful! Susan, help me flush through my pitch script and coached me through my presentation. I was lucky enough to attend one of Susan’s workshops through Start Co, as well as spending time with her one-on-one reviewing my pitch deck. Her insights were incredibly valuable and really helped to look at things from a new perspective. She made my 3-minute deck that much more impactful. Thank you so much, Susan!

I worked with Susan at Blackboard and found her to be extremely knowledgeable, approachable, and very conducive in terms of her constructive approach to learning and facilitating emotions and practice with customers. Her subject knowledge around learning and teaching was powerful and very much complimented the work I also delivered to the same customers. Her thought process as well as practical delivery really put things into perspective and always ensured that customers were educated through immersive and engaging conversations.

Susan is an amazing listener. She helped me observe or notice inconsistencies in thought. She pointed out when my thoughts have been at odds with something else. She held light in this process and it was very helpful. I have been subconsciously working through conscious thought and she helped me in a very articulate, friendly, and non-judgemental way. It sounds like a simple thing to do, but I would never be able to do what she does.

Susan’s sessions brought ideas and feelings out of me that I didn’t even realize I had and gave me a safe space to work with them. During coaching sessions, I discovered things about the experiences I was having as I navigated different jobs. Her style of coaching does not feel like she’s giving answers, rather it feels like she asked the right questions for me to make important discoveries. The sessions gave me space to question assumptions I held about myself. I ended up knowing a lot more about what I want out of my life after working with her.

I embarked on coaching with Dr. Susan. She is extremely professional and helped me to expand my executive communication skills so that I can deliver ideas better for more assured negotiations with clients. During this age of Covid-19, it was most effective.

I have had the pleasure of taking Susan’s initial program and have signed up for the second one already. During the first program I expanded my vocabulary and developed career relevant skills, such as providing better presentations and public speaking. Working as a healthcare analyst, I build predictive models and spend most of my time online. I have finally become comfortable communicating with clarity during Zoom meetings. Although I consider myself fluent in English, I have now started to use tenses that I used to avoid and have gained a high comfort level with work related writing assignments including writing longer, more insightful emails.

During our sessions we discuss a broad level of topics that interest me. For example, we have focused on emotions in the workplace and how we can explain and handle them. We also have lots of fun. Susan always has a positive attitude and a desire to help me with any professional related activities. I have only optimistic predictions for the second program I just started.
— Liidia Tronia, Healthcare Analyst, New York, NY

Dr. Susan’s skills in pedagogy and technology are highly recommendable. I had a chance to work with Dr. Susan during our Blackboard OpenLMS on-boarding. As a Client Success Manager in Asia, Dr. Susan conducted a series of training for our faculty members and administrators concerning online course development and delivery. All the knowledge and skills that she has shared during the training is part and parcel of our online learning program’s success, including the development of our blended learning mastery program. Her ability to engage the participants during workshops is remarkable.

As a former Marine, I have been blessed to encounter a rare few of inspirational and excellent leaders. I consider Dr. Susan as one of them, who have challenged and sharpened my understanding of personal excellence through servant leadership. I witnessed this as she trained, developed, and managed the English Department of mixed expat and native faculty to the rigorous standards of the SACSCOC, a US regional accrediting organization. Dr. Susan has had a tremendous influence over my life and I am deeply grateful and honored to have been mentored by her.

Susan taught me so much. I learned about proprioception questions and their application and other thinking skills necessary for teaching and mentorship—the sort of stuff you never learn in a teacher prep program. Thank you for modeling boldness and use of voice, Susan!! I’m really grateful.
— KRISTIN HARRISON, DIRECTOR OF CHRISTA MCAULIFFE CHARTER SCHOOL, FRAMINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS

Susan’s workshops were very well received by my community of lecturers and were always active, as Susan intended and designed. She never ran a hard-sell and always situated software in the broader context of faculty development in teaching & learning. I appreciated the key role Susan played in TLCAsia, and was sad to see her leave Asia to return to the US.
— Paul Ng, Senior Education Fellow in Singapore

Initially I wanted no part of this digital learning thing. I mean, I didn’t want to come to these workshops at all. But you made them very fun. I actually like this stuff. I want to do it now. May the force be with you! Would you like to go check out the virtual navigation deck?
